I love seeing the mixed flocks of overwintering birds here on the Gulf Coast. We also get more robins, finches, and downy woodpeckers in winter. Robins are actually quite social birds in winter and move in flocks of 15-100. We also apparently have a few different hummingbirds that rarely overwinter here but I’ve never seen one. As for Bigfoot never seen him. They probably prefer cooler areas like Appalachia, the Rocky Mountains, Canada’s boreal forest and perhaps the Ozark and Ouchita Mountains

However the frogs in that pond are really loud starting around sundown. But, recently, the pond has been grown over with bushes, trees and other foliage. Now what you are hearing goes on 24 hours a day. I’m thankful the pond isn’t outside our bedroom window, or we would be going crazy with the bellowing. Outside our window are little tree frogs that croak a sweet sound that puts you right to sleep. These little guys will drop on you from above and stick a landing on your face, arm, shoulder etc. they will do this anytime day or night. I guess you will have to invest in some sort of earplugs.
